The cascading pool is terraced into the landscape and overlooks both the savannah plains and Lake Ihema. Evening dining includes bonfire dinners and a BBQ buffet by the campfire. Rooms feature king-size beds.
The 7:30am morning boat ride is only accessible to guests staying overnight in the south, either inside the park or at one of the few lodges outside it, with Akagera Safari Camp being the closest accommodation outside the boundary.
And it's after a long hot day of safari, when early starts and off-road hours have run their course, that the cool pool overlooking the park truly earns its place.
